My textiles start with a photo. I draw the figures. Then I remember the event, the feelings, the mood. I create a background which reflects my connection to that.

My process is to embellish dyed scrim onto a linen fabric which might previously have been painted. I use quality vintage linen - I am preserving a precious memory so the materials have to reflect that. I then stitch the figures on top. until now they have been a superimposed line but my current explorations are looking into making those bodies more solid.
